How We Got Started
We founded Resonnect Marketing, LLC in October 2001. Our initial mission was to provide business advice, consulting, and business growth mentorship to small and mid-sized businesses. Not necessarily the happiest time to start a business, in the shadow of 9/11 a month earlier.
Since we both spent long careers in corporate America, we did spend a lot of time trying to determine whether we should start our own business and what we should focus on. San Diego was a terrific town for networking events. We quickly learned the issues that small businesses and startups were struggling with. We concluded that, with some modifications, our expertise and experiences would be extremely helpful to small/medium businesses. We needed to modify our experiences and do away with a lot of corporate speak.
One thing we learned was that a significant number of companies went out of business in the first two years and that 95% failed in the first five years. Although this was something that we always kept in mind when working with clients, we needed to ensure our own company did not follow this trend. We concluded that keeping up with the needs and changes of our customers was the best way to ensure longevity. We recently celebrated Resonnect’s 22nd anniversary. We both still enjoy empowering our clients to uncover new problems and helping them reach new levels by solving those problems.
It all Starts With You!
Growing a business is hard.
We know. While it’s incredible to be growing a business in the digital economy and have access to the top online platforms—Google, iTunes, Facebook Instagram and YouTube—to reach your ideal customers with your original content, it’s also daunting. That’s where we come in.

Your most powerful marketing option today is creating and publishing your original content on the Internet. Not traditional radio, or cable TV commercials, print ads, snail mail or other tried and true methods of the past. Your prospects, customers and clients are continuously searching online using an array of devices like smartphones, tablets and laptop/desktop computers to solve problems, get ideas or insights.
What attracts them? Content that is relevant to what they want accomplish, fresh and seems to be directed specifically to him or her.

Next, we teach you timesaving ways to create your customer focused content once and then repurpose it into other media types. For example, you create a great blog post and received lots of positive comments. Why not create a video where you explain what your post was about, maybe show some graphics or visuals to further explain your post. You might then create an online course on the subject where you can show your clients how to use the information in their business. You might even take this post and combine it with some other related posts and create book that you can self publish.
Then we show/offer you powerful tools for the last step: content creation and distribution to the places your customers use to learn about new things. And, where possible we use processes and tools that do not require tons of your time! We can also point to resources who will help you with Done For You services when things get more complex.
